Check this out! That whole paragraph of text was written with one dip from this bamboo dip pen! Now that's an incredible feat!
Not to bad of fading either. It's writes generally the same color except for the last few lines.

It lays down a broad wet line. Not to wet though, and the line size could be custom cut to whatever you want!

that is cool as heck! please do post a tutorial. for instance, is that a breathing hole i see? is the nib split into tines? what if i don't have any bamboo growing in my yard-where would i get some?
ReplyDeleteGlad you like it! No there is no breathing hole or slit. It's as simple as just cutting the nib shape!
ReplyDeleteI'll try and get a tutorial up when I have the time. As far as a substitute for bamboo, I don't know. The bamboo works so well because it's already hollow. Let me think about that and see what I can come up with.

ReplyDeleteHello PininKcillin! The ink I'm using is Noodlers Navajo Turquoise. I dilute mine with 50% water. Yes, that's right, 50%. I like the result and it stretches the ink really far!

A tutorial on this, as well as a feather dipper, would be great. How smoothly do they write. I have always wanted to try making and using a feather dip pen but I always imagined that they would be extremely scratchy writers. This looks like an interesting alternative.
